Glendale "Corky" Morton age 79 of Linn, MO passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009 in Franklin County.

Corky was born November 30, 1929 in Mansfield, OH a son to the late Clyde and Beulah (Marmet) Morton.

He attended school in Linn and graduated from Linn High School in 1947. After graduation he attended the University of Missouri studying electrical engineering. He then joined the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict where he obtained the rank of Sergeant Major.

On January 19, 1952 Corky was united in marriage to Nancy White in Linn. She preceded him in death on February 20, 2000.

After he was discharged from the Air Force he moved to Chamois and opened a television repair shop. He then went to work for Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, IA. later transferring to Dallas, TX. He worked for Collins Radio for over 25 years. After leaving Collins Radio in 1979 he and Nancy moved to Freeport, TX where he became co-owner of Freeport Marine Electronics. He then went to work for BASF and worked for them until his retirement in 1994.

He and Nancy then enjoyed their retirement years together until her death in 2000. Corky then moved to Linn to look after his two older brothers, Bernie and Vernon.

Corky was a private pilot and enjoyed attending various air shows around the country where he would sometimes work as a volunteer. He enjoyed traveling and walking his dog Julie who was his constant companion.

He was a member of the St John's United Methodist Church in Linn, the Linn Masonic Lodge #326 A.F. & A. M., the Scottish Rite, the Shriners and VFW Post # 4756 in Linn.

Survivors include one son; Steven Morton of Brandon, MS, one daughter; Stephanie Reisdorfer and her husband Mark of Floyds Knobs, IN, two brothers; Vernon Morton of Linn and Larry and his wife Jaydine Morton of West Plains, MO, one sister; Shirley Morton of Richardson, TX, three grandchildren; Jason, Nathan and Shawn Morton, one great granddaughter; Mena Morton as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two brothers; David and Bernard "Bernie" Morton and one sister; Geraldine McCarty.

Visitation will be 4:00-8:00pm Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the Morton Chapel in Linn. A Masonic Service will be held Thursday at 7PM.

Funeral Services will be 1:00pm Friday, November 20, 2009 at Morton Chapel in Linn with Rev John Swatosh officiating. Full Military Honors will follow the service.
