Gerald A. Ploof, 87 of Linn, Mo passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2008 in his residence.
He was born September 18, 1920 in Dickinson Center, New York to the late Arthur and Alice Deshaw Ploof.
Gerald attended school in upstate New York. On November 24, 1945 he married Pauline R. Imhoff in Olathe, Kansas. She survives of the home.
He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a farmer and also worked as a truck driver for Majestic Building Materials in St. Louis for several years prior to his retirement in 1986.
Gerald enjoyed gardening and was a member of Teamsters Local 682 and the Moose Lodge in St. Louis.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son; Jerry Ploof of Ferguson, Mo and one daughter Ginger Lee Piel of Sullivan, Mo. Three brothers; Andrew Ploof of Normandy, Mo, Robert Ploof of St. Peters, Mo and Loren Ploof of Messena, New York and one sister; Arlene Currier of Messena, New York. Three grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Kenneth Ploof, Arlington Ploof and Percy Ploof.
Visitation will be from 2:00PM-5:00PM on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Morton Chapel in Linn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00AM Thursday, May 22, 2008 in St George Church in Linn with Rev. I. C. Medina as the Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Cedron Cemetery in Moniteau County.
