George Frederick Samson, age 76 of Bonnots Mill, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Westphalia Hills in Westphalia.
George was born on December 2, 1933, in Bonnots Mill, a son to the late George and Pearl (Boillot) Samson.
He attended parochial school in Bonnots Mill and Loose Creek High School and graduated from Fatima High School in 1952. Following graduation, George served in the U.S. Army for two years in Korea.
After his discharge from the Army, George worked at Schanzmeyer Ford, McKay Buick and Riley Chevrolet as an automobile detailer. He retired from the Missouri Department of Conservation in 2000 after 15 years of service.
George had a passion for vegetable gardening, enjoyed going for drives and visiting with family and friends. He lived life fully and had a delightful sense of humor that made all who knew him, laugh.
Survivors include: one brother, Robert A. Samson of Westphalia; one nephew, Michael J. Dudenhoeffer of Westphalia; three nieces, Elaine Himes of Raytown, Betty Harrison and her husband David of Hartsburg, and Linda Duke and her husband Kenneth of San Antonio, TX; two great nieces, Ashley DuValeus of Jefferson City, and Emily Duke of San Antonio, TX.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by: one sister, Catherine Dudenhoeffer; one brother-in-law, Joseph Dudenhoeffer; one nephew, Gerald Dudenhoeffer; and one great nephew, Devin Dudenhoeffer.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at St. Louis of France Catholic Church in Bonnots Mill with the Funeral Mass to follow at 12:00 p.m. with Fr. Donald Antweiler as the celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Louis of France Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of Masses or flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Louis of France Parish Cemetery.
