Geneva Mae Owens

Geneva Mae Owens, age 73 passed away Sunday, December 14, 2008 at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City, MO.

She was born July 31, 1935 in Osage County to the late Floyd and Mayme (Helmig) Branson. Geneva graduated from Linn High School in 1952. After graduation, she worked several years as a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell in Linn.

On June 28, 1953 she was united in marriage to Cleo Owens in Linn, Mo. He survives of the home.

Geneva enjoyed sewing and bird watching especially humming birds. She was a member of the Solid Rock Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son; Mark and his wife Judy Owens of Linn; two daughters, Janet Owens of Linn and Lisa and her husband Curtis Hicks of Linn; one brother, David and his wife Mary Branson of Tucson, AZ; two sisters, Betty Henderson and Anna Mae Branson both of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by one son Larry Owens and two sisters Margaret Barker and Mary Catherine "Kathy" Wall.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Morton Chapel in Linn, MO.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the Solid Rock Baptist Church in Linn with Rev. O.J. Bewley and Rev. Lyle Coleman officiating.

Interment will follow in the Solid Rock Church Cemetery.
