Gary Hubert Reinkemeyer, 61, of Linn, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018.
Gary was born June 30, 1957, in Jefferson City, a son to the late Lawrence “Bud” and Esther (Rustemeyer) Reinkemeyer.
Gary was a 1975 graduate of Linn High School and a 1977 graduate of Linn State Technical College with a degree in auto mechanics on a basketball scholarship.
On May 3, 1980, he was united in marriage to Carla (Rhoads) Reinkemeyer at St. George Catholic Church in Linn. She survives of the home.
Gary was employed for Balkenbusch Excavating for over 40 years and spent most of his weekends playing at Maples Farms. He enjoyed working, playing on a bulldozer, cutting wood, going to tractor pulls, playing basketball, making and visiting with friends, spending time on the family farm but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his spouse of 38 years, Gary is survived by his three children: Amy Reinkemeyer of Linn, Kelly Reinkemeyer of Macon and Michael Reinkemeyer and his wife Sarah of Koeltztown; two grandchildren, Karlee and David Reinkemeyer; one brother, Dale Reinkemeyer and his wife Mary Kay of Loose Creek; one sister, Elaine Reinkemeyer of Springfield, Il.; as well a several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by: one brother, Larry Reinkemeyer.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at Morton Chapel in Linn.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Morton Chapel in Linn. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Aeriel Cemetery near Linn.
