Emma “Katie” Rustemeyer, age 35 of Linn, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Emma was born on June 17, 1987, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Howard Kent Chilcoat and Sharon K. Kesel who survives of Linn.
Emma was a 2005 graduate of Jefferson City High School. She attended Columbia College.
On October 12, 2018, she was united in marriage to Adam Rustemeyer in Columbia. He survives at their home.
She was employed at Woodhaven Special Learning Center in Columbia as an Administrative Assistant.
Emma enjoyed camping, fishing, swimming, doing crafts, watching Star Trek, and planning the annual family vacation. She loved working at Woodhaven but her greatest love was spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her mother and spouse, Emma is survived by: one stepson, Carson Rustemeyer of Wardsville; one brother, Lucas Chilcoat and his wife, Britney of Columbia; a sister, Sara Shuck of the State of Virginia; a half-sister, Crystal Prince Nelson of the State of Oklahoma; mother and father-in-law, LeeAnn and Mark Rustemeyer of Jefferson City; a brother-in-law, Robert Rustemeyer of Jefferson City; a sister-in-law, Amy Dunn and her husband William of Jefferson City; grandmother-in-law, Catherine Rustemeyer of St. Martins; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by: one brother, Billy “Bubba” Brown and maternal grandparents, Phil and Nora Kesel.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society.
