Ella Mae (Pope) Luebbert

Ella Mae (Pope) Luebbert, age 76 of Linn, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Ella Mae was born November 10, 1940, in Festus, Missouri, a daughter to the late Joseph Miles and Imogene Katherine (Johnson) Pope.
She attended Festus High School.
On November 26, 1960, she was united in marriage to Bernard “Ben” Luebbert in Jefferson City. He survives of the home.
Besides being a homemaker, wife and mother, Ella Mae also worked as a Corrections Officer at the Missouri Department of Corrections until her retirement in 2000.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Missouri State Retired Employees Association.
Ella Mae enjoyed cooking, music, crocheting, bible study and spending time with her family.
In addition to her spouse of 56 years, Ella Mae is survived by: four sons, Dennis Luebbert and his wife Melody of Springfield, Daniel Luebbert and his wife Laura of Holts Summit, David Luebbert and his wife Mary of Rich Fountain, and Douglas Luebbert and his wife Lisa of Holts Summit; three daughters, Deborah Lumpkin and her husband Matt of Linn, Denise Stotler and her husband Jeff of Columbia, and Dana Monnette and her husband John of Linn; two brothers, Rev. Paul Pope and his wife Debbie of Bonne Terre, and Timothy Pope and his wife Nancy of Festus; one sister, Evelyn Wilder of Festus; sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren with two on the way; three sisters-in-law, Donna Pope of Festus, Dee Pope of Festus, and Kaye Pope of Imperial, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ella Mae was preceded in death by: a daughter, Darla Luebbert; three brothers, Joseph Pope, William Pope, and Carl Pope; and a daughter-in-law, Sandy Luebbert.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017, at Morton Chapel in Linn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Healing Horses, Special Learning Center in Jefferson City, or Coyote Hill Children’s Home in Harrisburg.
