Elda "Tudie" A. Nichols

Elda "Tudie" A. Nichols, age 89 of Linn, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016, at SSM St Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City.

Tudie was born February 26, 1927, in Linn, a daughter to the late Guffrie and Alice (Gaume) Baclesse.

Tudie attended elementary school at Georgetown School and was a 1945 graduate of Linn High School.

On February 28, 1946, she was united in marriage to Herbert F. Nichols in Linn. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1990.

Tudie was a member of the Mint Hill Baptist Church. Besides being a mother and housewife, she served as secretary/treasurer for the Mint Hill Cemetery Association for 20 years and she worked at Linn Manufacturing, McGraw-Edison, Westphalia Elementary School and part time for Norris Freidley Real Estate. She was a former member of the Osage Trail Riders and had been a kennel operator for several years.

Tudie enjoyed gardening, crocheting, fishing and spending time with her family.

Survivors include: three sons, Larry Nichols, Mike Nichols and his wife Cathy and Jim Nichols all of Linn; one sister, Marlene Laughlin of Linn as well as two grandchildren, Kurt Nichols and Cortney Nichols both of Linn.

In addition to her parents and spouse of 44 years, Elda was a preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judy.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11: 00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will be in the Mint Hill Shirley Cemetery.
