Dorothy M. Thomas, age 93 of Linn, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at General Baptist Nursing Home in Linn surrounded by her loving family.
Dorothy was born June 11, 1925, in Brinktown, a daughter to the late Henry and Gertrude (Eisterhold) Heiman.
She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Rich Fountain.
On June 20, 1942, she was united in marriage to Lawrence “Buck” Thomas at Sacred Heart Church in Rich Fountain. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1994.
Dorothy had been employed at the Linn Pants Factory, Cheesebrough Ponds, and Florsheim Shoes. She retired in 1988.
She was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn, Ladies Sodality, life member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Teamsters Union.
Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, fishing, gardening, baking turkey and dressing for the holidays, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Dorothy is survived by: one son, Larry Thomas and his wife Sharon of Linn; two daughters, Jeanette Kramer and her husband Herb of Rich Fountain and Darlene Tyree and her husband Ronnie of Chamois; nine grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren along with three more on the way.
In addition to her parents and spouse of 52 years, she was preceded in death by: one daughter, Cheryl Ann Thomas; one grandson, Joseph Lawrence Kramer; three sisters, Anna Marie Kottwitz, Henrietta Oidtman, and Veronica Lehman; and three brothers, Leo Lehman, infant brother Teddy Radmacher and Pete Radmacher.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018, at Morton Chapel in Linn. A V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Fr. Daniel Merz and Fr. William Debo concelebrating. Interment will be in the St. George Parish Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to American Heart Association or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
