Don Wissmann

Don Wissmann, 74 of Linn, MO died suddenly on Friday, February 1, 2008 in Linn.

He was born November 12, 1933 near Freedom, MO, a son of the late Virgil C. and Sedonia Wissmann (Sanders). Don graduated from Linn High School in 1952. He joined the United States Navy where he was a member of the Seabees during the Korean conflict. After his military service, he attended the Rolla School of Mines. He was a lineman for Ameren prior to his retirement in 1990. He was a co-owner and operator, along with his wife Beth, of the Wissmann Wrecker Service, Inc., in Linn.

Don was a 50 year member and past president of IBEW Local #2. He was a union representative for IBEW Local #2 for 23 years. He was a past presiding commissioner for Osage County.

Don is survived by his wife, Beth of the home. Three sons: Craig A. and his wife Laura L. Jones of Indianapolis, IN; Clint D and wife Michelle Jones of Russellville, MO; and Corwin ""Corky"" and wife Shelley R. Jones of Reform, MO. One daughter, Kimberly and husband Bud Rhodes of Bland, MO. One brother, John ""Jack"" Wissmann of Union, MO. and one sister Lois Mall of South Carolina. Ten grandchildren, one great grandchild, five nephews and two nieces. He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Wissmann.

Visitation will be Monday, February 4, 2008, from 4-8 p.m. at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at Morton Chapel with the Rev. Alan Earls officiating. Interment will follow in Enloe Cemetery near Russellville.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Linn Fire Department or Osage County Sheriff's Department Equipment Fund.
