Don E. Hinkle

Don E Hinkle, age 73, of Holts Summit passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010 at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City.

Don was born June 10, 1936, in Bowling Green, KY, a son to the late Robert A. and Phronie E. (Gregory) Hinkle.

On September 20, 1993 he was united in marriage to Karen Gregory in Lake Tahoe, NV.
She survives of the home.

Don was a retired salesman for Acme Boot Company where he worked for a number of years. He was an avid storyteller and enjoyed tinkering with lawn mowers.

Don was a US Army Veteran and a pilot.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: one stepson, Wayne and his wife Sheila Cantrell of Troy, MO; two stepdaughters, Dana Poindexter and her husband Tarry of Tuscola, IL and Lisa Elliott and her husband Kevin of Ironton, MO; two daughters, Carol Hinkle of St. Louis and Amy Hinkle of St. Charles; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and his mother-in-law, Edna Gregory of Linn.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by one brother, Randy Hinkle.

Visitation will be held 2:00p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 5, 2010 at Morton Chapel in Linn. Funeral services with full military honors will be held following the visitation.
