Dixie Belle Thomas, 82, of Linn, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021, at her brother’s residence in Holts Summit.

Dixie was born on April 10, 1939, in Linn, a daughter to the late Ray Alexander and Ida Mae (Mantle) Thomas.

Dixie was a 1957 graduate of Linn High School.

She completed two careers with Johnson Controls and McGraw-Edison.

She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Linn. She enjoyed volunteering and being a member at the Fraternal Order of Eagles and participating in game nights and dancing with longtime friends.

Dixie enjoyed her family. She attended all holiday gatherings plus many more. She was a very accepting sweet person with a kind and gentle nature and loved a good laugh.

Dixie is survived by two brothers, Jerry (Kathleen) Thomas of Holts Summit and John (Rose) Thomas of Arnold. She is also admired by many nieces and nephews.

Dixie was preceded in her eternal rest by her parents, five brothers, Lawrence “Buck” (Dorothy) Thomas, Omar (Pat) Thomas, Ray Jr. “Babe” (Evelyn) Thomas, Harry (Theresa) Thomas, and Robert (Betty) Thomas; and two sisters, Georgia (Bernard) Thomas Stuesse and Evelyn Thomas.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Morton Chapel in Linn with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor William Barkman officiating. Interment will be held in the Linn Public Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
