Derek Conrad Holtmeyer, age 35, of Linn, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024.
He was born on July 3, 1988, in Jefferson City, a son to his loving parents Beth Ann (Brauner) Holtmeyer and the late Robert Conrad Holtmeyer.
Derek was a 2005 graduate of Linn High School and a graduate of State Technical College in Linn with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electrical Distribution Systems (Lineman).
He was employed at a variety of businesses including Quaker Windows, ABB, Modern Litho, and Thoenen Turkey Loading. He enjoyed trying new things and possessed many work skills.
Derek enjoyed camping along with water activities like fishing and swimming. He loved and cared for animals. He made every effort to stay in shape by lifting weights. Derek was a true Holtmeyer because of his love for Allis-Chalmers tractors and Ford trucks.
His life may have been short, but he impacted many lives. Most important to him was his daughter, Hailey. She was his pride and joy. His love for his daughter, parents, family and friends could never be doubted. He was everyone’s protector, he never knew a stranger and he always had a smile on his face. Derek was a man of deep faith. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his daughter and his family. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Derek is survived by his mother, Beth Holtmeyer of Linn; his daughter, Hailey Holtmeyer; his best friend and Hailey’s mom, Angie Ablondi, both of Freeburg; his sibling, Morgan “Travis” (Alicia) Holtmeyer of Belle; two nephews, Erick and Grant Holtmeyer; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
