Deborah S. "Debbie" Shockley, age 63 of Taos, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Debbie was born November 27, 1951, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Wilbert G. "Buck" and Darleen (Pointer) Schaefer who survives in Linn.

On June 1, 1968, she was united in marriage to Jerry W. Shockley in Linn. He resides at their home in Taos.

Debbie was employed by the State of Missouri from December 1975 to July 2014 working with programs that served the elderly, disabled, and needy Missourians.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos. Debbie enjoyed traveling, fishing, and most of all spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her spouse of 46 years and her mother, Debbie is survived by: one son, Joe Shockley of Jefferson City; three daughters, Kim Branch and her husband Chris of Jefferson City, Denise Peters and her husband Brad "Bo" of Linn, and Amanda Shockley of Taos; seven grandchildren, Emily Johnson, Christopher Shockley, Elizabeth Shockley, Haley Branch, Sarah Garrett, Seth Peters, and Allison Peters; two sisters, Vicky Helmig and her husband Dick of Hawthorne, FL, and Charlotte Belser and her husband Aaron of Spanaway, WA; a sister-in-law, Margaret Schaefer, as well as many other family members and friends.

In addition to her father, Debbie was preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Morgan Johnson; her brother, Randy Schaefer; a daughter-in-law, Theresa Shockley; and her mother and father-in-law, Arch and Edna Shockley.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Fr. I.C. Medina as the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. George Parish Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hope Lodge of St. Louis.
