Curtis “Curt” E. Bittle, age 76, of Linn, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
Curt was born on July 19, 1948, in Wilton, Missouri, a son to the late Alfred and Trellis (Nichols) Bittle.
Curt was a 1967 graduate of Eldon High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
On September 4, 2007, he was united in marriage to Laura Koenigsfeld in Miami, Oklahoma. Laura survives at their home.
Curt was employed at ABB in Jefferson City for 40 years until he retired in 2012.
Curt was a member of the Linn VFW Post #4756 and the Linn Lions Club.
Curt loved camping, trout fishing and always had the best fire in the campground. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and going to his grandkids events. He was a proud United States Army Veteran. He was kind and “one of a kind” and was a friend to all.
In addition to his wife of 17 years, Curt is survived by his three children: Stacey Evers and her husband Bryan of Mary’s Home, Scott Bittle and his wife Loretta of Osage Bend, and Jason Bittle and his wife Monica of Mary’s Home; seven grandchildren, Noah and Hannah Evers, Chad and Addyson Bittle and Jordan, Jacob and Magdaline Bittle; four siblings, Jim Bittle of Columbia, Tom Bittle and his wife Mary Helen of Eldon, Ruth Parkes of California, and Jerry Bittle of New Bloomfield; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Bittle of the State of California; a brother-in-law, Phil Ponder of Eldon; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, Curt was preceded in death by two brothers, Delmar Bittle and Larry Bittle; a sister, Beverly Ponder; a brother-in-law, Dennis Parkes and a sister-in-law, Francis Bittle.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Rev. Colin Franklin officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will be held in St. George Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Grandchildren’s Education Fund.
