Cletus J. Schmitz, age 86 of Loose Creek passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010 at St Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City.
Cletus was born September 13, 1924 in Loose Creek a son to the late Henry and Catherine (Hasenbeck) Schmitz.
Cletus attended the Cadet Creek School. On November 27, 1943 he was united in marriage to Helen Bolten who survives.
Cletus was a World War II Army veteran and worked at Schultes IGA in Jefferson City for a number of years. He also operated a taxidermy business out of his home for several years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek.
In addition to his wife he is survived by, two sons; Gary Schmitz of Columbia and Gerald Schmitz of Jefferson City, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Cletus was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Morton Chapel in Linn. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Fr. Donald Antweiler officiating.
