Clarence F. Fick, age 91, of Linn passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Clarence was born August 25, 1918, in Rich Fountain, a son to the late Herman and Mary (Klebba) Fick.
He attended grade school at Sacred Heart in Rich Fountain and high school at Conception Abbey in Concordia, MO. He received his Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Missouri in 1939. Clarence enlisted in the Navy in 1942.
On November 20, 1946, Clarence was united in marriage to Eileen Atkins in Halethorpe, Maryland. She survives of the home.
Clarence and Eileen then moved to Jefferson City where he went to work as a bank examiner for the State of Missouri. In 1950, they moved to St. Louis, where Clarence took a position at the Baden Bank as a teller, working his way up to Cashier. In 1968, he left St. Louis and moved to Linn, to work at the Linn State Bank, rising to the position of Executive Vice President. At the time of his death, Clarence also held the title of Vice Chairman of the Board of the Bank.
Clarence was a member of the Linn Lions Club and a founding member of the Osage Country Club. He was a member of the Missouri Bankers Association, the American Bankers Association and a member of the St. George Church, serving on the Parish Council. Clarence enjoyed playing golf and was an avid card player.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two children - Robert and his wife Joyceanne Fick of Kuna, Idaho, and Barbara Fick of Mishawaka, Indiana; a sister-in-law Jeanette Fick of Jefferson City; three nieces and one nephew.
Clarence was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard, Jerome and Gerard Fick.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2010, at Morton Chapel in Linn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Fr. I.C. Medina as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. George Church Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. George Church.
