Charles Hueste

Charles Hueste, age 85, of Linn, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving children.

Charles was born on December 18, 1939, in Linn a son to the late Leo Hueste, Sr., and Agnes (Schaefer) Hueste.

He was a 1957 graduate of Linn High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves. 

On June 3, 1961, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Samson at St. George Catholic Church in Linn. Dorothy preceded him in death on January 15, 2019.

Charles was employed at Three Rivers Electric for 41 years, retiring in 2002.

He was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn, the Osage County Historical Society and the Casper’s Coffee Club.

Charles enjoyed woodworking, gardening, squirrel and mushroom hunting, fishing, looking for arrowheads, cutting wood, watching sports, traveling and being on his farm with his cattle and chickens. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. 

Charles is survived by two sons, Greg Hueste and his wife Kathy of Camdenton, Chris Hueste and his wife Mary Beth of College Station, Texas; one daughter, Cathy Jo Roark of Linn; eight grandchildren, Jacob (Tiffany) and Johnathon Hueste, Alexandra (Seth) Dougharty, Michael and Anastasia Hueste, Chelsea Smith, Kristin, and Jimmy McCuskey and his girlfriend, Ella Scheulen; eleven great grandchildren, William, Joanna, Nathan, and Matthew Hueste, Preston and Hallie Dougharty, Addisyn, Kynlee, Mylee, Paisley, and Beckham Smith, and one on the way; one brother, Ralph Hueste and his wife Ellen of Linn; a brother-in-law, Roy Fluegel of Houston, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Hueste of Linn, and Joyce Hueste of Jefferson City; along with several nieces, nephews, friends and his special dog, Addie. 

In addition to his parents and wife of 57 years, Charles was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Tom Roark; a grandson-in-law, Matthew Smith; four sisters, Theresa Hueste, Marie (Joseph) Oldelehr, Margaret Fluegel, Leoba Hueste; three brothers, Bernard Hueste, Albert Hueste, and Leo Hueste, Jr. and sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Clifford) Wolfe.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Rev. Colin Franklin as the Celebrant. Interment will be held in St. George Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. George Catholic School.
