Charles Thomas Helfrich, age 84 of St. Louis, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Charles was born September 30, 1936, in St. Louis, a son to the late Charles and Dorothy (Walton) Helfrich.
Charles attended school in St. Louis. He proudly served his country in the United State Coast Guard.
On February 20, 1960, he was united in marriage to Donna Crowe in Linn. She survives of the home.
Charles was a union pipefitter for Local #562 in St. Louis from 1967 until his retirement in 1996.
Charles who developed the nickname "Jack Black Slade" enjoyed fast draw competition, cowboy shoots, buying, selling and reloading guns.
In addition to his spouse of 61 years, Charles is survived by: one son, Thomas Helfrich and his wife Shelly of Fenton; one daughter, Lisa Loerch and her husband Ken of Linn; three grandchildren, Andy (Tiffany) Wolfe, Cassie (Brad) Sneller, and Matthew Helfrich; nine great grandchildren, Kylie, Tanner, Tommy, Jeffrey, Andi, Rylee, Raylan, Luke and Sydney; one great-great grandchild, Hunter; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Georgia McGuire and a grandson, Jeffrey Helfrich.
In keeping with Charles' wishes he was cremated, and no services will be held.
