Betty Jane Brune

Betty Jane Brune, age 84 of Loose Creek, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023, at her residence.

Betty was born November 20, 1938, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Alfred and Mildred (Haslag) Wilson.

She was a 1956 graduate of Fatima High School.

On May 25, 1957, she was united in marriage to Emil “Butch” Brune at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2014.

Betty was a co-owner and part-time driver for a local trucking Company and later worked as a teller at National Guard Credit Union in Jefferson City until her retirement in 2001 after 15 years of employment.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek, Ladies Sodality, the Red Hatters, and many other organizations. 

Betty enjoyed crafting, sewing, camping, playing cards, and loved to “check-out” the new area restaurants with her friends. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by: three sons, Keith (Susan) Brune of Philadelphia, PA, Scott (Karen) Brune of Taos, and Mark (Amy) Brune of Linn; one daughter, Kristy (Norbert) Luebbert of Freeburg; a daughter-in-law, Susan Brune of the State of South Carolina; two brothers, Gene (Anna Marie) Wilson of Jefferson City and Wayne (Helen) Wilson of the State of Nebraska; 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and spouse of 57 years, she was preceded death by one son, Michael Brune.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek with Fr. Colin Franklin as the Celebrant.  Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery.
