Augusta F. (Temmen) Haslag, age 91 of Frankenstein, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
Augusta was born, December 2, 1926, in Westphalia, a daughter to the late John B. and Mary (Holterman) Temmen.
Augusta was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in Westphalia.
On October 29, 1947, Augusta was united in marriage to Sylvester F. Haslag at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Koeltztown. He preceded her in death on November 29, 2000.
Augusta was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein. She was a member of the Ladies Sodality and the quilting group.
She enjoyed quilting, gardening, crocheting, cooking, baking and time spent visiting with her friends and family.
Augusta is survived by: two sons, Frank Haslag and his wife Sandy of Linn and Robert Haslag and his wife Pam of Frankenstein; three daughters, Linda M. Troesser and her husband Don of Loose Creek, Margaret A. Schaefer of Frankenstein and Mary Wilbers and her husband Mike of Loose Creek; one sister, Sophia Wilde of Koeltztown; one sister-in-law, Clarabelle Dorweiler of Linn; 18 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and spouse of 53 years, Augusta was preceded in death by a brother, Virgil Temmen; two sisters, Gertrude Koerber and Elizabeth Hilkemeyer; a son-in-law, Randy Schaefer; two grandchildren, Samantha Schaefer and Jason Troesser and three great grandchildren, Lance, Logan and Max Voss.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Morton Chapel in Linn. A prayer service will begin at 6:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein with Fr. Daniel Merz as the celebrant.
Interment will follow in the Garden of Gethsemane Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church or to St. Mary’s School.
