Alvina L. Noltensmeyer, age 97, of Hope, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Stonebridge Westphalia.
Alvina was born on February 10, 1926, in Hope, a daughter to the late Henry J. and Christina Wilhelmina (Niewald) Noltensmeyer.
Alvina was a 1940 graduate of Mud Creek School District.
Alvina was a very active member of Salem Presbyterian Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years, and she cleaned the church for many years. She was the overseer of the mixture to make sure it was correct for church’s annual apple butter making event.
Alvina was the best quilter in Osage County, she was known for making many beautiful quilts. She was the caretaker for her mother until she passed away. She was a generous, selfless, and knowledgeable person who was always pleasant to be around.
Alvina was never married and is survived by her five first cousins and their families along with many friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Salem Presbyterian Church near Morrison with Pastor Jason Hilkerbaumer, officiating. Interment will be held in the Hope Salem Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Hope Salem Cemetery Fund or Salem Presbyterian Church.
