Alvina Jaegers, age 97, of Bonnots Mill, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Westphalia Hill in Westphalia.
Alvina was born on January 29, 1928, in Loose Creek, a daughter to the late Paul and Elizabeth (Dudenhoeffer) Kliethermes.
Alvina attended Cadet Creek School near Loose Creek.
On August 21, 1946, she was united in marriage to Leslie Jaegers in Bonnots Mill. Leslie preceded her in death on March 17, 2001.
Alvina was employed as a housekeeper, where she cleaned the church and did housekeeping for the priest. She later worked at Scholastic in Jefferson City for 10 years until her retirement.
Alvina was a member of St. Louis of France Catholic Church in Bonnots Mill, the Ladies Sodality, Home and Garden club and the Bonnots Mill Betterment Club.
Alvina enjoyed quilting, canning, gardening, cooking, dancing, ironing and embroidery. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Alvina is survived by her three sons, Roger Jaegers of Loose Creek, Larry “Hooper” Jaegers of Bonnots Mill and Kevin (Tammy) Jaegers of Bonnots Mill; twelve grandchildren, Christy (Brad) Smith, Beth (Troy) Boehm, Linda (Mike) Pfahl, Kathy (JT) Stegeman, Wes Jaegers, Dustin (Julie) Jaegers, Jenna (Jake) Massmann, Bo (Kathlyn) Jaegers, Tyler (Alyssa) Jaegers, Colton Jaegers, Dusty (Deziray) Jaegers, and Kara (Matt) Troesser; twenty-four great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren with one on the way; two brothers, Edgar Kliethermes of Bonnots Mill and Harry (Bernice) Kliethermes of Linn; one sister, Dorothy Thessen of Wardsville; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband of fifty-four years, Alvina was preceded in death by two daughters, Gail Reinkemeyer and Joyce Kremer; a son-in-law, Virgil Kremer; two brothers, Clifford and Oscar Kliethermes and three sisters, Elsie LeCure, Shirley Prenger and Laurene Heet.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at St. Louis of France Catholic Church in Bonnots Mill with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Anthony Rinaldo as the Celebrant. Interment will be held in St. Louis of France Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
