Alvin F. Rotter age 72 of Loose Creek passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the University Hospital & Clinics in Columbia.

Alvin was born November 10, 1937 in Loose Creek, a son to the late John and Caroline (Muenks) Rotter.

He attended grade school at Immaculate Conception School in Loose Creek and then graduated from Fatima High School in Westphalia.

On June 19, 1965 Alvin was united in marriage to Doris Verhoff in Westphalia. She survives of the home.

Alvin worked as a press operator for ABB until his retirement in 1999. He enjoyed fishing, camping, spending time on the farm as well as the trips to deer camp every year with his buddies. He also enjoyed going to the "Coffee Club" at Loose Creek Oil.

Alvin was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Loose Creek as well as the American Legion Post #5 in Jefferson City.

In addition to his wife Doris, Alvin is survived by two brothers; John Rotter, Jr. and his wife Jean of Loose Creek, Charles and his wife Dorothy Rotter of Jefferson City, one sister; Betty Buhr and her husband Harvey of Bonnots Mill, his mother-in-law Alma Verhoff of Westphalia as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He also is survived by his two Golden Retrievers; Brandy and Ozzie who were his constant companions. In addition to his parents Alvin was preceded in death by an infant daughter; Mary Ann Rotter and a son Dale Rotter who passed away March 15, 2007.

Visitation will be 4pm-7pm Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Morton Chapel in Linn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Monday, November 23, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Church in Loose Creek with Fr. Tom Siefner as the Celebrant.
